My wife left our house yesterday at 5:30 am to catch the bus at park and ride to go to work in down town Portland, Ore. At 9am yesterday morning I get a frantic call from our daughter saying that her Mom is in a hospital in Portland. I finally calmed our daughter down and she said that a social worker from the hospital had called and said that she had a heart attack and the bus driver called 911. An Ambulance arrived and the EMTs did CPR on her since her heart had stopped , then rusher her to the Oregon State Teaching Hospital. Since she was admited as an unknown patiant, the EMTs said that she was 130 years old and name unknown. Well everyone knows that she is 22. She had her backpack with her ID in it, so the hospital social worker found her phone and so she called our daughter in Cal.. I made a call to our family doctor to imform of the medical issue. I then called her work and said that she had a medical emergency and will not make it to work. The hospital is an hour away due to metropolis traffic, so I arrived there at 11:15. Our son #2 arrived 20 minutes later. She was unresponsive and her body was twithching uncontrolably. She had a trachea tube in and wires attacher all over her body. A Nurse was in attendance at all times, doctors, graduate MDs and Interns and Senior Med. students shuffling in and out constantly. She had 3 episodes where she spit out large quantities of dark blood out of her mouth with up to 10 Nurses, and doctors attending her needs each time. By 1:20 a group of Doctor Surgeons , a diverse group of 3 White Americans, 1 Chinese from China, 1 from India,1 from Israel, 1 from Africa in African garb. They all examined her as well as all medical proceedures and findings, they they all talked to my son and me with their findings and need for immediate surgery. By 3:00 she was taken to surgery to take out a HUGE blood clot in her lungs. 7:20 2 of the surgeons came out and said the surgery was successful and that my son, daughter in law, and myself could see my wife in her Intensive Care room. She was again covered in wires and trachea tube and sound asleap. We were told that she will be asleap untill mid morning today, so we whent home. I will be going to the hospital in 15 minutes and hoping for the best.

Hoping for the best outcome, Bob.

Hospitals are full of caring people.

And, the social workers are in that group. You might want to drift off a moment to talk to one of them.
