Congrats on you 45th anniversary @ninnymary . What a beautiful time to get married. There must be a lot of fall color where you were married. More pics of autumn color needed here.

Beautiful color in your lovely maple tree pics …@Carol Dee nothing like the gorgeous fall colors covering the landscapes to usher in the winter…we cross posted when the flower and leaf pic was posted. Your photos are great. I enjoy your pics they are all so creative .

@ninnymary cold weather is a big contributor for leaf color. In the PNW we have fall weather and colors incorporated from many trees and plants that glow in the bright sunshine the soft autumn color pallet. Once winter arrives the deciduous autumn leaves fall leaving the trees bark exposed and the shuffle to clean up all the fallen leaves . It’s a plus to have the weather and plants that perform during the Autum seasons and also a negative when scooping up and mulching tons of fallen leaves .

You certainly live in a beautiful corner of the world Shades of Oregon! I am enjoying all of your autumn colour photos. We have a good sized burning bush too, and while I adore the bright red fall foliage it offers I am starting to understand why they are banning this shrub in some areas. Where ever a branch touches the ground it roots by layering, and there are also hundreds of young volunteer plants popping up underneath the bush each year. By the time they are 8-10" tall they can be quite difficult to pull out (mostly because you have to crawl on your belly to reach them!)

@Branching Out thank you . Burning bush makes a striking show in autumn as a hedge . They are banned in some areas in the US due to their invasive nature . The fall weather this season has been very unusual and so much longer than usual.

There are so many trees and shrubs that pop in the last days of autumns landscape . It’s the many varieties of maple trees that grow in this region that add color, shapes and textures throughout the PNW.
