Now that everybody (well, just about everybody) has one, I am noticing some pretty far out typos on social media every day. Some are downright hysterical. Some could get you in big trouble!

Today I saw this on a news article regarding a Holocaust survivor who had reached his 112th birthday:

Happy Birthday and I know you have a place in heaving waiting for you.

Heaving...that is something I would not be looking forward to. That sounds like a real rotten way to spend one's birthday. :sick

What are some funny ones you have seen lately?

I use my 'smart phone' so seldom I haven't seen anything of note myself. I've answered one phone call since the phone came. I'm pretty much sticking to texting because that's what the son and grands do.

Yup! I found that my phone is learning me (artificial intelligence at its best) and more and more, all I need is the first letter before my phone flashes the word I want.

Wait till you start to you voice recognition to do texts.... You will read what it typed and think, I didn't say that.... iPhone hates a northern talking with some southerner words mixed in or any kind of drawl.

That's true! My first attempts at voice texts went smoothly and I was amazed. Then reality hit when I tried again. Phooey! I had no idea I spoke so poorly. Actually I don't! I articulate very clearly and pronounce my words properly. Not according to the phone.

Yes, there may have been hidden and hilarious messages in those texts. Unfortunately, I erased everything and went back to typing.

That iPhone peculiarity warrants investigation!

My Androids are Apple-sensitive. Every apple deserves a capital, I guess. I'm not even sure that they knew there was an all-American fruit that goes by that name!

Additionally, every word that starts with an A P P L E , needs the suffix "-gate" for some strange reason. Applegate. They appear to be okay with Applebee but it has to be that or Applegate.

Why?! @murphysranch knows the valley and the Applegate river which flows right along the California and Oregon border. It was my playground, as a kid. Are these devices reading my mind??

I'm not sure if they can read my spoken language. Hearing loss becomes reflected verbally. It is even reflected in spelling and word choice. Take a look at writing by the deaf.

Something the autocorrect does that I almost always miss is to change were to we're. Look folks, I may make mistakes with my they're, there, their but I would have to stop and shift the keyboard to insert that apostrophe! That's not my mistake ... except I miss it. I mean,, an apostrophe indicates that there is something missing. Why would I even notice it, if it's missing, but isn't?
