A friend with a large vegetable garden invited me over for wine. She picked some tomatoes and basil. She then sliced a mozzarella cheese and the tomatoes. on each slice of cheese she placed a tomato slice and basil leaf. A big plate was finished very quickly.

Yup. The flavor of summer. We usually enjoy that kind of thing in the early morning or evening but it's been so dang hot we have moved indoors this year. It's just not the same.

It is good.
My wife makes something like that but she cuts a Tomato in half, adds a basil leaf and some homemade Goat Cheese then she puts it in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese.
It almost as good as a toasted BLT with a big cold glass of sweet sun tea. :D

Yum my favorite combination!! I'm too lazy to slice everything neatly, i just chop all 3 ingredients into bite sized pieces and stir in a bowl with some olive oil, then eat with some kind of chip or bruchetta.. Easy and delicious!

You can even mix them with pasta, its tastes very light and fresh tasting.
