It's been 88F suddenly and it's hard to take, just last week, it was 20F and hailing at night...
The starting indoors is a huge failure, I need lights right over them next year, that will also warm them...
I've been getting the stand still plants used to being outside. Yesterday night was their first over night stay, with the willows and others. Thinking of planting them today, since my pond pump is too strong for just one 2" outlet, ugh.
Also bought an apple tree, need to plant that. No idea where to put that plant that needs shade I bought weeks ago...The blueberry bush doesn't like sun....hah, but the other in the bag and the 2 hydrangeas are doing ok. Gotta plant all of those...
The green/bullfrogs are back....so close to the house because they live in my pond. SOOO loud all day and all night!

I'm with ya Secuono. Starting indoors without the proper equipment is not very satisfying. And hauling the spindly things in and out every afternoon is a pain. I'm going to put mine in the ground this week/weekend and hope for the best.

Next year, however..... :p

I know you are not complaining about warm weather.... My soil temps are still in the 40's!! Starting seeds is challenging at first- but don't give up. After the 3rd year, I was an old pro... Good luck and Happy Gardening!

I'm sure we're in for some windy storms with all this sudden heat. Ok....we just entirely skipped over spring and went straight to summer! This sent a lot of unusual tornadoes through my region last year.

You could hill in those plants for now until you figure out where you want them, Secuono. That's what I did with my landscaping plants. They're chillin' out in the big garden for now.

You can be sure we'll have another cold snap before this is all said and done! I am just hoping the storms they are calling for on Thursday don't blow all the blooms off my peach tree before the bees do their thing.

Well, I never knew there was more than just sprouting the seeds indoors and then moving them out. So this year, started much earlier, hoping they would get nice and sort of bushy like store started plants. Nope. Need a light, hoping that will do it.
It's so hot out, can hardly be out there for 10min w/o wanting to jump into the pond! But that water is 58F, so darn cold!

A week ago it was FREEZING and I was scraping frost off my windshield in the morning, now its in the 80's and I haven't really gotten squat done before now. Now I have to go outside and SWEAT to get things going. UGH!
