Have you ever thought that we need November's Thanksgiving because, October?

Every bit of news is hyped into something terrifying. Dramatic soundz as the teevee station logo spins 180 after each story ... which usually fades into nothing noteworthy inside of a week.

My computer knows DW went shopping for flannel sheets. Shoot. The spell checker knows my full name! Only my mother knew my full name; my daughter has changed the spelling ... I let it go.

The do not call list means nothing! DW takes calls for me from people insisting that I should buy their windows!

Homeless people are adrift with the wind, rain and darkness ... Maybe it will snow on Halloween, again.

To me October makes me think of frosty mornings and blue skies, and all the yellows reds and golds in the changing leaves. :)
Also fall cleanups begin so it's aching hands from cutdowns and muddy tools from those October days that don't have a blue sky. :\

November now, there's a dreary month with overcast and rain and cold days.
It's nice to have Thanksgiving to look forward to.

And so it begins: We are now facing temperatures merely into the 60s for highs -- some days that will be a stretch -- and nightly lows in the 40s. Sigh! Such is October in south-est, central-est Wisconsin.

I predict there will still be nicer days and I know there will be cooler nights before I see the end of October. I know the landscape will flash with amazing color and that the ground will cover itself with a blanket of leaves that I must remove to keep the useless lawn alive.

I am feeling stressed. Not stressed by nature around me doing its predictable things in its own unpredictable timetable, no, I'm feeling stressed by the unnatural things going on around me. . . DH, of course, . . . .and the ongoing problems with the neighbors. . . and my habit of putting things off until there's no putting off time left. . . and my inability to allow myself to depend on others.

Hey, but the day is brighter! We just picked up a package at the post office! A pleasant surprise from Carol Dee to brighten my day and my future garden. Thank you, @Carol Dee!

So far the trees have only begun to slightly change. The beans in the farm fields are nearly all out. The corn will be next and the driers will be humming and the air will smell like POPCORN near the elevator in town. :)

We're getting strong wind from the north west today. Temperature is near 70, so it's nice, if you don't mind being blown about. October makes me happy and sad at the same time.

We getting rain here! Our first significant since May. It poured for about 30 min and now its been kinda drizzling. YEA for October 1st! Time to wash all the ash away.
Oh! It's so good to hear that you guys are getting a gentle rain. Wouldn't it be nice to get lots more gentle stuff? I'm sure there is major concern if you get hard downpours. The now-vulnerable areas will see mudslides with too much, too soon.
