I am extra lucky!! I a have a brand new neighbor who is willing to share... He just brought over 4 wine barrel halves, and said whatever I need he has hundreds! I offered to give him lots of eggs when my 18 girls start producing... plus some quail once they hatch and get to weight! I think I just found a mutually benificial relationship!!!(the soil around here is no good for planting... Yay for me!

:weee A good neighbor who shares mutual interest and his garden is hard to find. I have one and I love it! I even got him hooked on chickens. Congrats!

How lucky you are!

I am hoping the more I do the more others will, and eventually we will be sharing. I am already passing out eggs and seedlings.

My mouth dropped open when I read your post! Those barrels are worth a "fortune", well maybe not that much. Yes, you are extra lucky to have a neighbor like that. It is priceless. All of my neighbors are also very nice. I just spent an hour with one on the phone yesterday. Before I hung up, I told her how fortunate we are to be close neighbors. This is especially true living in the "concrete jungle" where many times people don't even know the names of their neighbors. I have many friends where they say all they do is wave to each other. How sad. :(

Those barrels make pretty good raised beds for gardening veggies. Takes very little time to plunk one down where it gets water and sun, and dump in a bag of potting soil, and plant something from the nursery.

And if they need moving, well, then you start to worry... :/
