I swear, if it's not one animal it's another! My daughter brought home a lamb that was one of a set of triplets from her livestock class at the college. One was born dead, one was big and looked perfect, and this one was very tiny with clubby legs. Momma only accepted the big one, so my daughter drug this one home to bottle feed. It was so weak and nobody at the school farm expected it to survive the night, but the silly little thing is now 4 days old and is doing great! She is very spoiled from living in the house with us, but we have no place else to keep a single, tiny lamb. Her legs are still clubby, but it certainly isn't slowing her down any. We think that her palate is also not quite right, but she has no trouble eating and doesn't seem to have any other health problems, so. . . Carrie has named her Lila, so now I'm thinking fattening her up and having BBQ'd lamb chops probably isn't going to happen. What in the world are we going to do with a very spoiled sheep?

Well, I think its fabulous she nursed her back to health and she's thriving. However, in my house, if you drag an animal home and name it... it stays! So I wish you much luck on that front.

baaaahh! good luck with the little lamby! (i used to have a stuffed lamb as a kid that went with me everywhere!) give the cutie some time and she'll be giving you plenty of manure, wool and keep that lawn maintained at the same time!
