ok, i keep hearing about a water and soap mix to spray on the plants to assist in killing the buggies. ANy advice on what soap to use? mix ratio? how to apply and use? any certain plants i shouldny use it on?
Tests have shown homemade mixes to set plants' growth and production back more than commercial insecticidal soaps, so personally I stick with teh commercial ones e.g. Safer's.
If you really want to go homemade, you can google homemade insecticidal soap recipe and find a bunch of info.
There are some plants for which soap sprays are too harsh -- ferns come to mind, but there are various others. Unless you are certain, it is wise to test your spray on a few leaves and wait a couple days to see what happens.
