Since I simply don't have the wherewithal or energy to get my top netting stitched yet, I've been getting the south and north beds ready. The north bed is getting 3 more berries right away, and 2 more later. Right now a Tay and an unknown probably Logan, and a Fall Gold Raspberry are going in. Sometime after the 1st if I can get one, a Marion and that unusual one at my secret patch in the woods will go in.

In the south row will go some peas. Most important are the red seeded golden poddeds that began appearing. I do hope they breed true! I don't think there is a variety out there that is golden podded and red seeded. I'll also plant some Alaska Peas. Me like um for garden munchies, and for soup peas. I will leave plenty of room in that bed for Bush Beans to be planted later, May 1st to 5th or so.

Hopefully soon I'll be able to stitch that netting back together.

I was just now out there doing a quick walk around survey, and yes, I think I will, but it won't be "in no time", lol. I'll get it together, but I believe that after this season ends I'll remove that netting and replace it with chicken wire with central supports of 2x4. This business of fixing it every year after the snow breaks the plastic netting is getting old. :p or getting me old!

Also, some of the beds' soil has done that shrink thing. That forest compost breaks down further, like Cane's Mt. Rotmore, and shrinks down. So I'm going to have to get some more.

Coffee has not yet kicked in...Campers are here for the weekend...Almost time to get up and be their hearty and jolly Mountain Man...if I can!

BEAUTIFUL MISTY MORNING!!!

Major mist here, interior & exterior.

Coming down off the coffee, low-caf too! Think I need a gatorade before going off to the building supply . . .

Yeah, less than .25 mile visibility after a toasty-warm 41F high yesterday. Supposedly ~ supposedly ~ we will see another 2013 high of 51 this weekend. The local teevee authority was crowing about this that last couple of days . . . who cares! Especially with an 80% to 90% chance of rain for Sunday night & Monday. Garden soil will just not dry out enuf for cultivation!
