split pea soup dinner

Last Saterday we had a ham dinner for family and in- laws as an Easter dinner since everyone will be elswhere for Easter. I froze the ham bone that had quite a bit of meat still on it. Yesterday, my wife made split pea soup by adding onions, carrots, celery , the ham bone , and salt, pepper and some other spices. This morning, my wife and I hae been visiting the white round bowl that is attached to the floor in the bathroom OFTEN to flush down the watery runnin' trots. I should have purchased stock in the toilet paper company.

No, eleven people ate the ham last Saturday and noone had even a hint of illness or issues. I froze the ham bone with some ham meat that same evening right after we cleared the table. I suspect the dried peas as the culprit. Off to another sit down on the toilet.

sounds like you and the dw were exposed to any bug before the soup was made, if no one else got sick from the soup.... my tp stock just jumped 20 points.

Major ... eleven peole ate the HAM , and no one ill. Then , a few days later the soup was made from the frozen ham bone and ONLY 2 of us ate the soup. Both of us became sick with the running trots. No fever, no up- chuck, nothing else.

I need to get use to the idea vegetables can get you just as sick as under cooked meat.
