So Santa decided to stop @ my in laws and in my stocking there leave seed kits! The big guy was kind enough to leave a very interesting biodegradable egg carton with a VERY diverse mix of seeds which include Englemann spruce seeds (which they call Christmas tree seeds). The package has the scientific name on them so I did some searching & they are a beautiful spruce. He was also kind enough to leave a package of Blue Spruce seeds in their own package. So I have 24-30 seeds of 2 HUGE spruce varieties. I like evergreens but apparently saplings won't fit in my stocking. I had thought to ask for fruit trees but with all the varieties I opted to ask for flannel lined jeans instead.

Anyway is there any suggestions to tricks for growing evergreens or spruce trees that anybody has? Any do-s or do nots that they can share?

I've grown my share of oddities including cactus from seeds but spruce are new to me. I'd really like tone successful & get a few to make to it so any tips anybody can offer or places to research on how to-a I'd be VERY grateful.

Thank you

I'll see if I can find germination requirements for Engellman Spruce. Yes, they are very beautiful! They'll be slow at first. Finger high at one year. A foot in 2 years.
