OK- I have 1 green pepper plant per sq and they look gorgous with glossy leaves and nice buds- however, I am only getting tiny, stunted fruit.

I have not used any fertilizer and my compost is composed of several different types- cow, chicken, mushroom and household so it should be pretty balanced.

I water regularly and use a meter to be sure that the moisture level is good. What am I doing wrong! Could it be that these are heirlooms and not hybrids?

What are your temps like right now? Day temps? Night temps?

Peppers like it hot hot hot... to produce and grow well, they really need heat... if things dropped in temp recently it can slow their development. Last week, we have a few nights in the upper 60s... my peppers HATED that and my hot peppers seemed to stop turning red as fast as they were. ;)

Are they planted near each other? Mine seem to do best with themselves as neighbors- if I stick one here or there- the results are never good...

They are planted next to each other or next to a cayanne or jalapeno.
