I'm new here, so I hope this is in the right spot...

I'd like to know what all the varieties of squash are. But I mean more than just Butternut, Hubbard, etc., I mean actual varieties and strains (Burgess Buttercup, Waltham Butternut, New England Hubbard etc.) I know there are lots of them. Thanks for your help everyone! :)

You don't really need to have an account but it helps to have many gardeners writing reviews so the good folks at Cornell, obviously encourage it.

I don't think that the lists have been updated recently. It looks to me like there's somewhat of a truck farm orientation to the choices but, good heavens, there have been a lot of varieties over the years!

There is the regular Delicata and then the delicata variety sugarloaf.

Delicata- cream skinned with green stripes. Very smooth textured with a slight earthy hint in flavor. Excellent for baking and frying.

Sugarloaf- bred for an oranger skin. this gives marketers the illusion of maturity sooner. They must have gotten it from breeding it with a butternut because it is slightly sweeter than the original squash.
