To be politically correct, Starbucks now has a new policy that anyone can stay in their place of business without buying anything and can use their restrooms anytime one has an urge to. In Vancouver, Wa. there is a vacant lot very near a Starbucks. Yesterday, most of the Starbucks stores were closed so that the employees could get race relations sensitivity training. He management now says that all businesses can use this training as a business model. A week ago there appeared a homeless campsight and the occupant started to use the restroom. This morning there were 3 new tents . One of my neighbors works at a shopping center next to the Portland International Airport. He buys his Starbucks coffee every morning just 3 store locations away from his workplace. There is a lady that spends her days there, gets free glass of water and spends her time there just talking ( selling "dates" ;) ) to people. A friend gets his coffee at another Starbucs location at a Portland, Ore. suburb , he says that there is a black gentleman selling drugs all day just at the coffee shop's entrance. Now, he is free to go inside and use the facilities instead of on car tires .... So, do you think that this is a good business model ?
