This year is proving unusual for our neck of the woods, as the leaves are still on the trees. The hazy overcast lighting on the bottom photo makes for a soft image, with the leaves looking like the background in a medieval painting. One of our local TV weather men has been using some of my drone photos for his presentations. He used one to show that the intense coloring was concentrated in wet spots, due to our dry conditions, and one show to that there are still a lot of leaves on the trees in the hill towns, which is very unusual. He would like a drone for Christmas and is dropping hints to his better half. ;)

Nice do they give you credit on air for photos ?
He is really my kind of guy; he has a 14 year old pickup truck and a Ford Escort with 80,000 miles on it, been doing the weather for 33 years now. We joke that our trucks will need historic plates if we keep them much longer. Yes, he gives me on air credit with an overlay with my name, referring to me as: "his good friend Jack." I told him that if his wife gets him the drone I'll help him get started.

Super nice photos, jackb! That just be a really nice set up you have to get such great shots.
Thanks Red,
Well, it is definitely not a child's toy. It is sturdy and reliable, has a GPS system on board and will lift a decent camera. The camera is a 12 mp waterproof camera that will take stills or video and has WIFI capability. Currently it is set to take a photo every second and it has a 128 gig memory card, which will hold about 70,000 or more photos. The flag and Air Force roundels are my addition, in case seedcorn is planning to take a shot at it. ;)
