And whoever else suggested putting a fan on seedlings. I was just out tying up my tomato plants, and I have to say that they are the most robust plants I've EVER grown from seed! I'm going out in a sec, and I'll take some pics to post. :cool:

Oh wow, that is probably the most AWESOME idea I ever heard. I am so sorry I must have over looked that advice from Steve, and I try never to over look his advice!!!! :D

I didn't even really need to tie them up just yet - that's how strong they are!!

I used a small space heater that has a fan setting, and aimed it at my seedlings to help them become stronger. I guess the idea is that the plant has to put in extra effort to build up the stem to counteract the breeze.

Well, I'm always trying to claim credit when things work out right and dodge blame, when they don't. But, I may have just said that I'm a "fan" of tomatoes. Or, that I'm not a "fan" of fried, green tomatoes . . . .
Anyway, I hope I steered you in the direction of healthy plant starts, Kate :frow!

Maybe, it even means that I can show up at that tomato tasting party this summer . . . :fl.
