The blackberries they make are about half sized, so even though they make as many it takes awhile to fill a can. Maybe once it settles in a garden condition they might be bigger.

Nice Marshall :). You're going to have a great variety of berries for making your own razzleberry pie. Are we going to be invited at pie making time?

How many of those did you transplant?

Just one scrawny run over one that was near the dirt road. Someone has put up multiple scary looking no trespassing signs not visible from the road, but until on the path in. One I got was right next to the dirt road, probably run over several times a day. It'll make it I'm sure, but she'll come around slowly. Some fish emulsion next trip to town...Also, I planted her in a mix 50 50 of the extra soil around it with my best soil. She'll tough it out and be alright. I see at least a couple good buds. They have skinny stems, almost wiry.

Oh yes, and only the bestest crust too! None of this ez mix crust stuff for these!

ok, who knows the bestest thickener? Some say wheat flour...

and, who has the best chopping method, crushing, blending, squishing...

Going to town this week, want about 3 more berries...will they have a black raspberry? Marionberry? Santiam? Snowbank maybemaybemaybe??? guess i'll see what they have.

Still trying to find the species name of our local salmon/dewberry, wild and native, and can't find it even on wikipedia or wikispecies, and the mendocino national forest office has no local botanists. nearest is at their chico botanical station.

The local so called loganberry is not logan at all it is ursina, a very good natural selection of it. Actually it'd be interesting to know the history of how they got to get called logans.

nobody has a local name for the cut leaved ones.
