Supposed to get up to the 80s this weekend here in San Diego. That's too hot. My Winter garden isn't going to like it. I already lost one new seeding in early Fall to a Santa Ana. I hope it doesn't happen again. I know you folks in snow country are having a hard time sympathizing with me. :hit

Maybe I can get some wind turbines and blow the sub zero temps back across the country for ya. :D

No, Damummis, those new wind turbines are not supposed to work that way. :hu You'd have to reverse the electricity . . .

However, I could easily load a few rail cars with slushy snow, Hoodie, and send them south! Well, not just a few - as many as you want ;)!

Better get out the shade cloth there in southern Cal.

Steve :)

That would work Steve. By the time they get here they'll be water and we can always use water. ;)

Must be a warm front coming in Hoodat. I heard it was going to be in the low 70's here in the bay area. I'm not quite sure I believe it since it's drizzling and pretty dreary right now. We will see. Too bad it's not going to happen next weekend. This weekend is full, I'm making my tamales. Next weekend I want to get some more organic compost since we didn't make enough.

I know you are not expecting me to feel sorry for you!!! Weather is such a problem with gardening. Very difficult for us control freaks! Just nothing we can do about weather, except complain! Here's wishing you a cool front and a very successful garden! I am hoping to live vicariously through you, all winter, Hoodat- don't let me down!

The good news is that although they are still calling for unseasonably high temps they are not expecting it to be a Santa Ana. It's the almost non existent humidity that makes Santa Annas killers more so than the temperatures.

Hi Hoodat , I'm very familiar with your weather frustrations , having lived in Alpine for 24 years. We were located on the west slope of Viejas and right about in the wind tunnel for Santa Anas. Took our garage roof off one year. I like the rest that comes with winter now, but I'm still hoping for an early spring :fl

I'm very familiar with Alpine. I've been watching a natural bonsai pine growing in a crack in a shelf of rock there for almost 60 years. It would take dynamite to dig it out. Every time I go to visit I cross my fingers nothing has happened to it. In all that time it hasn't made it to more than a foot high.
