The Baron of Beef has been ordered, 9-10 lbs. this year. Made my mind up to what salads to make, a kale with dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds, a Caesar my homemade dressing and a cucumber, shrimp and feta. Just finished making the dessert a frozen lemon mousse it's now in the freezer. What I like about this dessert you can make it two weeks ahead if needed.
We used to have New Years at our house but it's too small for the crowd that has seemed to accumulate over the years so we take it all over to our daughters. This way we can make an early night of it and leave the cleanup to them.
What are you all doing for New Years, big dinner, buffet, simple pickens? Funny how traditions get started, Beef dip at our house was and is still very simple, roast is sliced, buns are warm and sitting on the counter along with plates and cutlery, big pan of dip simmering on the stove, salads on the dining room table. Form a line, help yourself and hope to h*ll you can find a place to sit .
