I have been thinking they needed some mental stimulation. nothing to do in the brooder but eat, sleep, drink & scratch the litter everywhere. so, I rigged up a place between two raised beds & put them in there for about an hour today. they loved it. they weren't too happy about being caught to go back home.
it's looking like several roos in the picture. most of the delawares, darn it.

i'm getting pretty tired of chicken issues these days. one of my hens is acting egg bound. I had one egg bound before. she didn't survive. I tried all the suggested treatments. i'm surprised this one is having this problem at this late stage of the game. she's been a reliable layer for months.

all this makes me think I live in green acres or someplace like that.
