That is a mountain ash and those are its berries. The last couple of years the birds ate them before they flew south but not so this year. Maybe they are saving them to get drunk later. (I've not seen drunk birds but have heard that they can get drunk from berries that have fermented.)

Here in San Diego we get birds drunk on pyracantha berries every Spring. I think some berries have psychedelic properties that affect birds and no humans.

Oh, what a breathtaking view you have from your backyard, Jojo. And that mountain ash is very striking! I never knew they had berries like that.

You have such a stunning view from your property.

I remember my mountain ash tree in Oregon getting loaded down with berries, until the Cedar Waxwings flew in and gorged themselves.

Hey, let that dog inside, he looks rather cold! ;)

Beautiful view...so peaceful. I love seeing pictures. Many times I've wished to move somewhere else just because of the amount of space/land you can have. Thanks for sharing. :)
