is admitting you have a problem.

These are what Baker Creek sent me. The Lemon Squash was a freebie too.

For those of you keeping score at home from L-R & top to bottom

Lemon squash, Berkley Pink Tie Dye tomatoes (originated from Wild boar farms), chocolate pear tomatoes, birdhouse gourds, Snow White carrots, atomic red carrots, jumbo pink banana squash, Red Marconi peppers, Hungarian heart tomatoes (becoming more & more of a fan of ox hearts lately), Jaune Obtuse Du Doubs carrots, albino bullnose peppers, Glass Bead corn (from Native Seed search expensive yes but a darn good cause I want to support), Delicata squash, Danvers 126 carrots & black Futsu squash.

Not pictured are King of the North peppers, another 8 or so tomato varieties (again mostly ox hearts or very early varieties in an effort to replace Early Girls in my garden) all from from Glecker Seedmen, cool crops, and the seeds from Journey from here @ TEG.

Yep I just might need an intervention :p

Problem? What problem?

I’ve grown the lemon squash, Marconi peppers, and Delicata squash and liked them all. I consider those all good choices.

In a month or two I’ll have all kinds of birdhouse gourd seeds. They are still drying. If we’d only known. If I think about it, I’ll start a thread on those when they are ready.

I think you showed great restraint.
This is what I ordered last year
2013 seeds.jpg

plus the several packs picked up at various check out lines...

What I actually grew?
3each of 4 types of tomato
2each of 4 types of cucumber
1 type of squash
a small patch each of 2 types of radishes and 2 types of carrots
5each of 2 types of corn
several tries at several types of greens (all failed)

So most of them are still in their packs and I'll give'em a go this year.

Jared, it must have been the bright, sparkly colors!

Lemon squash? Why not lemon cukes?

Jaune Obtuse Du Doubs carrots? Shoot. I know that Jaune is French for yellow but the rest of it is a little obtuse, yes?

Nothing wrong with having fun in the garden! Your daughters will be tickled pink.

Steve :)

Problem? By that do you mean being smart with your money and only buying a few packets? I've got a cardboard box and an ammo carrier full of seeds, and I'm still thinking about getting more!

Oh yeah, and by buying and planting those seeds you are contributing to local biodiversity, working towards a more secure food source for you and your family, and helping to save these varieties from extinction! I'm having trouble seeing a problem here.

I have two shoe box-sized plastic containers full of seeds. And those are just the flower seeds. A-M and M-Z. I am planning to toss almost everything in the ground and see what grows.

My veggie seeds take up a far, far greater space. What I already have to plant this season is pretty easy, but what I have no room for -- not to mention what I NEED that I don't yet have -- won't make a dent in my crowded seed containers. Admitting I have a problem may be the first step, but I keep looking out over 30 acres and saying, "I can do this". Not!

We should be helping you keep track of that, Jared.

We can't show up as a work party but calendar/weather determines scheduling. Worthy cause and TEG gardeners have proven nagging skills.

Nice selection! Now, you know we're not the right people to be holding an intervention, don't ya? :D

Hey I got the Lemon squash for a free gift too! That gives me......um......SIX varieties of squash! :celebrate I plant a half dozen plants of each and we get squashed to death, for a little while until the borers catch up to 'em.

My name is Baymule and I am a TEG'er. I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT have a gardening problem. I just need a bigger garden.
