...staining my deck!!!! :barnie What was I thinking!!!???

I went out after I went to the vet this morning with the dog. I decided my deck was already looking TOO weathered and we just built it last year. I bought stain MONTHS ago and did my raised beds, garden gate and arbor but put off the deck since it was just so HUGE!!! :ep

Well I sanded everything first to freshen up the wood... then wiped everything down and started staining while my daughter played in the pool and came up on the deck randomly for a bowl of grapes to share with mama.

I am doing all the detail minor staining with a brush first and it is taking FOREVER... but then I'm going to do all the big stuff with a roller. Right now it is now 90+ degrees out and I need a break for a couple of hours before I finish.

The guys are coming over to work on the siding since they are getting off of work at 3 today and they are at least 3 weekends behind where they wanted to be, so they are officially working weekdays now. :sick

When the siding is done, I SWEAR... no more huge projects this year!!!!!!!!!!!!! :duc That's why I'm staining the deck now, otherwise it would be next spring before I got back to it.)

It will look so beautiful when you are done!! I hope you will spend the rest of the summer, enjoying all the hard work you have done! With the siding done and the deck stained, you will think you have died and gone to heaven! Enjoy!

Sunburn, sunburn, what to do about a sunburn . . .

I don't get sunburns anymore - face and arms are exposed to sun everyday thru a 5 month growing season (wear hat). Those parts of me stay tan all year. (Add to the tan on the ski slopes?? You gotta be kidding :(! It's cold out there!!)

Hydrocortisone cream . . . yep, I'm a triamcinolone guy, myself.

And, an aspirin - that sounds about right.

Try putting apple cider vinegar on your burn. I've just learned about this, it takes the sting away and turns it into a tan practically overnight! Yes, you'll smell like a salad for a day, but it might be worth it! :)

Yes :) apple cider vinegar does work, but some folks it takes a few days. Like my DH,then it depends on how much area is burnt. About 20 or so years ago DH fell asleep in an inner tube floating in a friends pond (while skinny dipping :ep ) and he got a red lobster tan :somad yeah that's the shade there, :gig Any ways I had him lay in the tub and I used 3 gallons of apple cider vinegar and cool water on him. Talk about a walking salad :duc
That was the last time he went skinny dippin :gig

THANK YOU!!! I have those things and I'm taking them now.. it sooooooooooooo hurts!!!

honestly... I'm tan as tan could be since we moved here. Sadly, leaving my lower back exposed NEVER happens! LOL :coolsun

So its a 6" little line on my lower back about 14" long, and that's it... the rest of my body... tan and unburned!!! :ep

I will be right back with the photos... some reason my FTP is not connecting to let me upload the photos?! :tongue
