I FINALLY pulled the last of my garden. I took down the beans that I planted in Mid August. They never did give more than a few beans for the 20+ plants but I was thinking they didn't like the fall gardening. They did great the first part of the season in April-June but died in the heat of July and August. I pulled them all up they had nice big roots and were wonderfully healthy. I covered them with some horse poop and will turn them in a month or so.
I had a black krim? tomato that I gave up on. I only produced one fruit. I planted that in August and transplanted in early September. I kept (ok so I guess I am not done) a cherry tomatoe that I took a cutting of in August. I probably planted in late August/early sept. I planted another plant in Mid August and the heat killed it so I don't think there was any way to have transplanted earlier. It is freaking huge and covered with blooms and green cherries. But we already had a frost and maybe I can keep it going a couple of weeks but I doubt I will keep it enough for the cherries to ripe. this makes me totally confused on how to grow two season tomatoes.
I pulled up the two Jalapeno peppers finally. They finally started to produce when I started to side dress with some blood meal. They likey that N. I ended up with two gallon bags of peppers for the winter and that is after the whole summer/fall of fresh salsa.
So where stuff was taken out I put the poop and the other beds have a green manure mix from Parks that I planted in October. I know I could have done some fall gardening but I was over it. Now I am jonesing for Spring.
