I hope this is received in the spirit of our gardening efforts, and not made into a political football. It is still about feeding ourselves and when we can, sharing this life sustaining resource with others.

They obviously grew a lot of edibles.. good on them!

They make it sound so easy. I can't find anybody that will take excess summer squash, so I freeze what I can and feed the rest to the chickens.

How could I forget the chickens! Duh!

If my squash goes ballistic....I will feed it to the chickens....hurray!

I guess you don't have Mexican nighbors like I do. They'll take all the squash they can get, and anything else edible. The next door kids even come in and clean all the wild puslane out of my garden.
