Ha!

So, what are those other plants? They look familiar but not in a vegetable garden ...

For about the last 3 or 4 years, I have had bok choy (& a few other Asian greens) in the dahlia garden. Yep, those are dahlias!

I know there are others who plant veggies with their ornamentals - this is just a way I've found to use the extra ground for a cool-season vegetable in a warm-season flower bed ;). The bok choy was planted as seed about May 1st, when the dahlia roots went in. Of course, they sprang up before the dahlias.

They have very, very little time left as the dahlias will crowd them out in just a few days. Then, I will have reached the "no bok choy season" (for about 2 months :)).

Why do I miss my alerts?!

Yes! @Nyboy , the escarole grew wonderfully! ... more about that on the "little tricks" thread this evening ;).

Here is about half of the last of the bok choy:

after eating it for 10 months, we need a break!

The escarole should be a welcome new ingredient in the kitchen :).
