tire chains and studded snow tires by the states

would keep the studded tires on till the last day and then switch over the regular tires for the summer. here in the south drivers never heard of chains or studded tires.
here in the south .....
they have 4 wheel drive with mud and snow tires we can still go the same speed....um 1-800-state farm I've been in a wreak, my fault for going to fast ...oh wait it was the other guy....

I remember as a kid my father doing the change over every fall to winter tires. Sure glade I don't have to deal with that.
Around here we used to do just that. Snow tires last a lot longer if they aren't driven in the summer. Now, getting 4 tire rims is so expensive I've stopped the practice myself, but my BFF1 and 2 still do.

Good tires are a necessity for safe winter driving.
