We have a koi pond right under our bedroom window. Some nights there are as many as FIVE toads courting :) Oh My can they get LOUD. I came home the other day and interupted this romantic interlude! There WILL be MORE toads. DH called me a pervert for snapping their photo. :gig

:yuckyuck Do toads actually go in the koi pond I thought only frogs go in the water? More toads can't be a bad thing at least they'll help control all those insects lurking around.

Yes, they hop in to get away from the dog (he is a toad licker) we think he likes to foam at the mouth!:sick We usually find them sitting in shallow water on a roack or lily pad. The koi don't bother them and they will lay the eggs in the water. ( Those the koi may eat.)

Carol Dee! This is a family forum, ahem!

We like toads. The boys used to collect them and on any given day there was usually one visiting in the terrarium in their room. They all came to the name "Puddin' Head".
I don't know, maybe it was the same one they released and kept catching....he sure enjoyed those crickets they fed him..er..them...

Hehe... Well, at least you'll have plenty of garden helpers around!

:welcome I am pretty new here, too. You are going to love it! :love
Thanks I have been lurking for a few days, we have been busy working on the garden..we expanded the fence and added a new gate.
Also started our hoop greenhouse for use next year. We do containers
To make it easy for us..we both have bad backs, getting down isn't bad..
But getting back up is another story..
I will post some pictures when the powers that be let's me.
I have been over at BYC for a long time, but it doesn't count here

I know about the getting back up. My trouble is I don't have enough containers. I've double dug my raised beds and up to almost 600 square feet. Putting in a raised herb garden.

If I could just talk Mother Nature into quit knocking things down:he
