There is a big parade all the city celebrates. Gay rights started when police raided a bar know to have Homosexual clients. It was illegal to be gay. The bar was stonewall as police where arresting everyone in the bar a drag queen decided to put up a fight. That fight started the stonewall riots. The riots where the start of gay rights. Some thing a lot of people don't know, if you are a woman who has voted or cashed a paycheck you have been effected by gay rights. Not to long ago a man and woman could work side by side doing same job but not get paid the same. The right to vote and equal pay for equal work where spearheaded by lesbian woman. Womans rights where started by brave gay woman.

Several years ago in Northwest Arkansas a friend's daughter was my chicken sitter when I traveled. As kids do, she outgrew it. She happened to be lesbian. She got a teaching degree and took a job teaching a middle school science class in a nearby town, a job she loved. She was named outstanding teacher her first year on the job. She was uncomfortable living in the area she grew up in so she moved to Portland, Oregon where she could live honestly and a lot more relaxed. That school and the area in general lost an outstanding teacher and an outstanding person because of the intolerance she experienced growing up and trying to live in that area.

People are people. No matter whether gay, straight or race or male/female or whatever delineating factors used to isolate and separate people, are used. It does not matter. People love, laugh, cry and live their lives. Who are we to say who is better than others?

it's tough to be different... things are much easier now, but as a nerdy kid i sure never fit in and was always an issue with certain people.

live and let live, love each other, be good to each other, we're all we got and this planet is all we've got too, so be good to it too. :)

I like differences!

Oh please, let's not all be the same - cookie cutter people. Imagine how incredibly boring. I'd never really learn anything new. Education by rote, assembly line.

Everyday, Everywhere, Everyone different.

Sorry to say, but ... The two guys living next door have been flaunting their own agenda on everyone in our neighborhood which has caused and continue to cause health and financial issues for all. In addition to that, These two smoke like coal furnace smoke chimneys so they have to walk ten yards from the front of their house to throw their cigarette filters on the neighbor's driveway and my driveway on the other side every day since they moved to our neighborhood. So , discrimination goes both ways

Seems to me it just comes down to just having bad neighbors, has nothing to do with their gender, we had some pretty scary drug dealers next door to us for a couple of years. The closest I have come to being terrified in my whole life and it takes a H*ll of a lot to scare me. Really sorry you are having to deal with such bad neighbors it truly can make one's life miserable. Many of us have had to deal with those at one time or another, gender has nothing to do with it.
