Tomato Flowers & Unique Irrigation System

I got the photo of my volunteer tomato flowers. And to keep the soil moist I use vodka bottles turned upside down with the neck of the bottles near the roots of the tomato plant. Works great! I only have to water every other day or so even when the temps are over 100 degrees here.

Now to get a start on saving/collecting vodka bottles. How many ounces per bottle? How many bottles per plant? Some plants do get pretty big. . .

. . . perhaps my cheap wine bottles would work as well? Except for making liqueur with vodka and harvested fruits, I don't use much of the stuff.

Your plant looks very good though!

I showed this to my husband. He pulled all the bourbon bottles down that I've been saving for a year (for a project). He filled them with water and put them next to most of our pepper and tomato plants. Thanks for the idea @rebbetzin !

I imagian any long neck quart bottle would work. I am going to do this with a few of my plants the rest get a soaker hose thanks for the tip
