Toyon berries mark a SoCal Christmas picture added

Other parts of the country have holly, firs and other plants that mark the Christmas season but here in SoCal it is the bright red berries on the toyon shrubs that are our regional Christmas plant. They are having a banner year and every one on the hillside is loaded with clusters of scarlet berries. A very pretty sight.

Hoodat- those berries are beautiful, but they would look so much more festive with a little dusting of snow!!! Want some?

No thanks. Snow is pretty till you have to get out and wallow in it.
