OUCH, sure am glad you are feeling better and getting around better.Been a very busy summer for us here on the homestead. A while back I got run over by a 650 pound round bail of hay and totally messed up my hip, leg and spine. After two operations and fiftyseven gazllion hours of rehab I'm getting around a bit better these days. I got involved in a local Farm Co-op here in rural Indiana and now I keep track of scheduling equipment use and maintenance scheduling as well. It's a desk job while I'm in the office and I get to go to farms all over the place to inspect equipment to schedule maintenance. It's a good job for me but during planting and harvest seasons nobody is happy. Oh well.
I still do all of the homeplace farming here at our farm. 22 cows, 40 +/- pigs, goats, rabbits, chickens and ducks. We also have a big garden, an orchard, and grape vines. We try to do the organic thing but, I'll tell you, it's almost impossible in the garden, orchard and grapes. I don't know how the certified organic people do it. Bugs, disease, and blight control is a full-time job.
