I used to have an upholstery business. I specialized in antiques. Basically i can take a box of sticks, put it all back together, pad it, build coushins, cover it and give it back to you a beautiful, useable piece of furniture. I worked off a waiting list. So I can understand your restorers problem of having the time to work on your truck. If he is good, really good, then getting a piece done and done right can take awhile. But at the same time, you should make a personal appearance to check progress, gush about what he has done already and let him know you can't wait for the finished truck. My "shop" was my garage and customers were welcome to come hang out, watch me work, drink coffee and visit. Many did just that.
