Between the squirrels, rabbits, gophers, dogs, birds and bugs our plants are REALLY suffering this year and as soon as I fix one problem another one pops up. We've lost so much and it's SO frustrating! :(

I feel your pain! Although I haven't had as much trouble with animals (knock wood); it's the rain rain rain! I snuck out to try and get some weeding done this morning before it rained again and could barely find the veggies amidst all the weeds! I think a lawnmower might be a better tool for the job at this point.

I was at a local farm market yesterday, and was shocked when one of the farmers mentioned that it was almost July! I really hope we don't have an early frost this year. :fl

But hang in there! In a year like this, whatever I manage to harvest seems to taste even better because it's so precious! :D And :welcome

Same boat here. Rain, cold (it was 53 for a HIGH last week), wind ad nauseum... then the groundhog. Then the moles. Cutter worms. Some kind of beetle that's eating leaves off my peppers, more rain, then the chickens got into my garden yesterday and stepped on half the plants when they freaked out that they couldn't get back out...

Oh and also made the mistake of buying Miracle Gro Organic Garden Soil... which apparently ISN'T garden soil at all, but something you add to your garden soil. No wonder my raised beds look terrible... after all the rain we've had all that's left are pieces of wood from the "garden soil."

We'll suffer this year, try to get a good harvest, and make amends next year.
