I finally managed to obtain some Strawberry Popcorn seed here in Australia only do discover recently when harvesting that it had somehow become crossed with another type of unknown corn before I had obtained the seed.
I just did a test pop of an ear to test if they were dry enough for popping yet and every single kernel popped even the tiny runts at the top of the ear.
The flavor was amazing, enough so I am going to have to hang onto some ears so I can stabilize the corn and get my own popcorn cultivar.
I will try and get around to uploading some photos of the dried ears soon. They were small narrow ears like the corn in Asian dishes and were copper tones.

What Popcorn do you folks grow?

I've seen strawberry popcorn that isn't round but longer. Not sure after all these decades of breeding that this trait still lurks in history.

I have grown Strawberry Popcorn.

"Copper tones" isn't the color of a strawberry that I know anything about. The color of the ears were real close to that color, the shape fits the name, too.

Sounds like you are having fun and on a good track!

Yes, I'm suspecting it had crossed at some point with a small yellow variety that used to circulate here.
Either way I managed to get something that is excellent eating.

I've grown miniature rainbow popcorn. Used it decoratively, never ate it though.

Sounds awesome, I'd be hard pressed to eat the pretty stuff.
Do you know what the name of your miniature rainbow corn is?

I can't remember if it had a more specific name. I'm trying to remember where I bought it. :\
