Steve, you work too hard for a retired person.
Thank you, So Lucky.

I feel like I have permission for getting a little extra rest this morning.

We can all imagine the number of studies out there and what they say about the benefits of gardening as exercise. There are studies on "cognitive function and exercise," too. Beyond mood altering or as a treatment for depression - changes to or sustaining brain performance. Just Google those words in parentheses :).

We have been exposed to the information on children's performance and physical education in school. Interestingly, regular exercise in young adults is connected to better cognitive function in those individuals as they age ...

For a guy who paces indoors while throwing his hands above his head every few steps as exercise during the winter ~ hey, I record my pulse rate ~ I have some notions on the subject of exercise during the off-season and mental health ;)!

Exercise is repetition, seems to be the current definition. Okay ... I suppose. However, think about common daily activities and how often they have been performed.

Okay, looking at your watch isn't usually thought of as exercise ... unless you are trying to check your pulse while pacing and throwing your arms in the air!

Anyway, you know what I mean with cognitive performance and these things we do as routine. You lather, rinse, repeat. "Did I repeat?" You lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm for productivity - repetitively and while trying to function within the structural activity of gardening, which is just a little cosmic, man! ... :D
