I have wave petunias that have been self sowing for 3 years now. Many have reverted color this year from the purple I started with, to rose, pink, burgundy, white. In years past, they have been very sturdy, hardy vigorous plants. Hope this year is the same! It is interesting to see what they revert to after multiple generations. I have petunias coming out all over, and have transplanted them to various other spots. I also had volunteer impatiens for several years that came up every color. Sadly, after about 5 years of reseeding, they just stopped. My pink salvia is reseeding again this year. Don't ya just love free plants?!:)

Oh yes, I have merigolds and zinnia just coming in at will! Was even happier to see the poppies and coneflowers filling in all over the place. Its the best feeling to have done 1 season of work and have many years of joy from it all! :D

:welcome if I haven't welcomed you yet! :rainbow-sun

I do love volunteers!! I remember the first year I planted wave petunias in a window box- imagine my excitement when I saw the little plants coming up the following spring. I carefully transplanted them and watched them turn to weeds in front of my eyes!!! Not the kind of volunteers I was hoping for!
I never bother to plant calendula, allysum, black eyed susans, etc. They are just everywhere now! This year I had two broccoli come up from reseeding- will see what happens!
Welcome!

Yay for volunteers! :D I saved seed off of a volunteer wave petunia year before last and started them indoors. They were some of my favorite blooms last year. Mine came out white with purple veins...I guess you'd call that silver. I forgot to start them this year. Maybe the seed will still be good for next...
