How do you kill weeds? I usually use Roundup but would rather have something as effective and not as harmful to animals and the enviornment. Any suggestions?

It depends on where they are. If I can pull them out without making the area look funny, I will. It's the first thing I try to do. We do use roundup though on several areas of our property.

I pull my weeds up by hand. I find it kind of relaxing to yank the weeds from my flower beds. I do not use store bought weed killers, because I do not like spraying chemicals in my yard. I have heard that you can use vinegar to kill weeds, but I do not know how to go about doing it.

We don't like to use chemicals in our yard, either. My wife and I just pull weeds by hand. Sometimes I use a tool that resembles a hoe, if there is a large area.

I do agree that pulling them is the best way, but what if there is just too many. I have a huge yard with many bedded areas that need attention several times a year. I have tried vinegar and salt, but they come back. I have tried scalding hot water, but they come back. I have tried organic killer, but they come back. Any suggestions?

I just bought a house and the yard is full of little weed in between all the rock landscape. I want to do away with the weeds and rock without compromising the soil. I also have cats and dogs so I need something safe for them.

I think the best way is using the landscape fabric, this is normally the black plastic woven cloth for controlling the weeds.
