weird twisted trees

I received an email on The Dancing Forest of Kaliningrad where the trees grow twisted.

It reminded me of a grove of aspen trees in Saskatchewan, Canada that grow crooked as well. Right across the road the trees grow straight.

Aspens can form huge groves, all springing from the same set of roots, therefore what appears to be an aspen woods can actually be a single tree with many trunks. Many scientists consider an aspen grove in Utah to be the largest living thing on earth.

They're strangely beautiful in their imperfection. I particularly liked the aspens.
