I took two of my grand daughters to see The Jungle Book today. It was very good. If you have a kid you can borrow for a couple hours, I recommend it. Or go with adults....
Anyway, I was reminded of @Nyboy when the king of the Apes, King Louie, was asking Mowgli if he'd even eaten a Paw Paw. He said "I hear they taste like a banana and a mango" exactly what Nyboy was saying.
The film has Christopher Walken as King Louie, and Bill Murray as Baloo, the giant sloth bear, and Scarlett Johansen as Kaa, the huge serpent.
I never did read the book. I was wanting us (the girls and I) to read it before going to the movie, but it didn't happen. Not while there's Minecraft to be played.

That was one of my favorite stories as a young reader. I had the unabridged Kipling book, not the Disneyfied version.

I haven't seen trailers for it, but I assume it's not animated?

No, not animated as we think of it. Everything looks so real it scares the beegeesus out of you. (Well, out of me. I scare easily) You can google it and see pictures of the actors who spoke for each animal, and a pic of the boy who plays Mowgli. You can see how real the animals look. And maybe a trailer or it.

Oh yeah, I loved the scenes with the ruins. It reminded me of Angkor in Cambodia.
And I'm pretty sure they took liberties with the appropriate flora and fauna for the region!
