Hello everyone! :frow I'm a newbie to TEG site, but am quite familiar with the BYC, lol. My husband and I built a chicken coop last year for our 8 Plymouth Barred Rocks and as a result have been bitten by the building bug, lol. Our next project is a 12'x14' Quonset (hoop style) greenhouse. So far we've gotten the base finished and decided on having 4 separate raised beds to make it easier to maintain (crosses fingers). We've gone ahead and put the soil in the beds so that we can plant even though we haven't gotten the rest of the greenhouse done yet. We figured the plants could be growing while we worked. It's currently pouring outside so planting will have to wait a few days. We'll be trying our hand at tomatoes, radishes, carrots, salad bowl lettuce, & sugar snap peas.

You'll love having a roof! We recently had a little shed/greenhouse built and I just go out there and stand in it. (No ventilation yet, not safe for plants.)

Ok, I've taken a few more pictures of our progress. Here is the link:

We've encountered a small problem, or at least I think it might be a problem. When I put the wooden door frames temporarily up there to see how they looked before I made them permanent, I noticed that they seemed a little too tall. It gave it a sagging look to it since the front and back were higher than the middle. I think it could cause problems down the line. Snow, etc. What do you guys think? Should I leave it, or take off a few inches off the bottom of the upright 2'x4's to bring them down a little bit? Any advice is welcome.

Looking great so far, If it wont interfere with the door fitting right, I would cut the frame down till the hoop matches the other. The only reason I say that, is if it was mine it would eventually drive me nuts it would be the only thing I would see when I looked at it. I dont think it would hurt anything to leave it like it is though. Good job so far!

Looks absolutely fabulous! I would fix the door now. It is always so much harder to adjust things after the fact. Either way, it is truly a beautiful project!!
