Okay, I'm lazy. Figured I would start a regional thread for those of us in and around this area so I wouldn't have to meander everywhere in The Easy Garden to meet neighbors and share tips. 'Xept I have none to share. I'm just a taker, I guess!

I moved to Somerset, California in July 2011 and have been too busy getting my small, not quite two-thirds of an acre all ready for my chickens. And me. And the furry family members.

Chickens pretty much eat everything, anyway. What they don't get, the ducks and geese demolish.

Other gardeners around here with stuff to brag about? Lemme hear the successful things! Thanks!

Hi greyeyes and welcome! What is Somerset close to? I'm only familiar with the Murphy's area. BTW thank you for the tip on the automatic chicken door awhile back. I love it!!!! Wish I had gotton one from the start. Definitely worth the $.

Hi neighbor. LOL! (To Gryeyes... we live, like, 4 miles from each other.)

Somerset is in El Dorado County about half-way between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe as the crow flies. We are closest to Placerville and Plymouth.
