I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel. My wife changed her mind on the backsplash tile for the umteenth time and finally settled on a 12" x 12" tile with webbing that has stainless steel, glass, granite, and other stone of different shapes and sizes. To make cutouts for electrical outlets and swithces as well as at cabinets and at the corners and wall edges requires a wet saw with a diamond 7" blade that cuts grass. So I had to buy a wet saw as the cost of a rental would be as much if not more than buying one due to the amount of time that I would have to use it. In Bought a wet saw at Lowe's flooring and backsplash dept. and I had to go to their Tool Dept. to buy the diamond blade designed to cut glass. They had ONE that was on sale for $69.99 marked down from $79.99. Thanks but NO THANKS ! I go down the road one mile to Home Depot and buy the very same diamond blade designed to cut glass for ...... $29.98. !!! Now, Home Depot sells, a similar wet saw that is about $90 more. Know your prices ! :old x

Love those kitchen remodels, bobm! We received a wet saw as a Christmas present a few years back. Still haven't had an occasion to use it, although the gifter has new tile in his kitchen.

Sure, and he's related to my Dad. Dad was famous for getting DH and I Christmas gifts of tools that he needed to "borrow" first. A few never quite made it back to our tool collection at all, but a few were really expensive and have been well used by many in the family.
