I was thinking about my light problem. What if I got one of those full spectrum reptile lights? Would that work for seed starting? Would I be likely to start the house on fire while I was at work?

I can't remember the details of your light problem- but what is wrong with a shop light set up?

I don't have one. I live in the south and so have no good windows for light. Which is why most of my early seedlings get leggy. And I was thinking of getting a light setup but I just dont trust the two toddlers or mastiff to not knock stuff over. So I don't want light shelf thing like most have. Although the chap guy had one awesome setup.

So I was thinking of how can I add light to the few seedlings I start. And then remembered the bearded dragon. He likes light and warmth just like my peppers. Couldn't I use his light?

Reptile light BAD. The heat it gives out would shrivel and kill everything really quick. Try a 100 watt light if need be. I saw a set up with holes in a big bin and then LED christmas lights punched through each hole around the sides and the lid. Then they set it on the fridge. Have you tried that maybe?!

it looks like a space ship landing from the outside

Mine too!

I just put new light in the front bedroom for my melon starters. I came home last night and I was trying to figure out why it so bright out :p

I opened this thinking you were thinking of basking under a plant light you know...I forget others have sun! when things get really bad with all the rain I just sit my butt right under the big halide light in my living room for a few minutes and perk right up...

I have no sun problems here. Although it is cold or a different cold than I am used to. I can honestly say I feel colder here than I did in Montana where it was a dry cold.
My mom is starting some of the tomato seeds I sent her in So Cali and see said they are sprouting. And my mom is so not a gardener so it is likely her 70+ degree day....
