After trying to keep flower beds and lawn watered with hoses and sprinklers, I had under ground sprinklers put in last fall. Only got to use for a few weeks before system had to be shut down for winter. Today sprinkler man came and started up system. I can't wait to see how everything does now with regular watering. What are you looking forward to this season ?

I'm looking forward to a new body that works like the old one used to, where I could actually keep up with work away from and at home.

That's just a fantasy though, so this year I'm looking forward to re-evaluating what's really doable, and trying not to make myself crazy with what's not.

Something New!

If soy for edamame will only do well 50% of the time, why am I growing it? Gardening should not just be about challenges, IMO. There are additional things to try. (Maybe, I will sneak some soy in somewhere ;).)

I want to celebrate things! Something that I haven't grown before that does well - yay! Let's do that again. What is new in the garden, along with the old and familiar, add their special magic to life.

I'm looking forward to using a new gardening method and seeing all my veggies springing forth, green and lush, with the back drop of the tan wood chips. A neat garden fence around it all and everything blooming, fruiting, flourishing with bees buzzing, butterflies fluttering by, and the color splashes of the flowers intermixed with the veggies.

I can see it in my mind and now want to see it for real.

I am kind of trying to live in the moment instead of the future. I am growing the garden to be healthy, so I am looking forward to healthy food, but I am really enjoying planting and weeding. I started a lot of new things. Cherokee Purple tomatoes will be new, Greyhound cabbage, Red Marconi peppers, Monstrueux de Viroflay spinach, which so far the little bit that I have grown has been kind of monster sized and tastes great, and I am giving arugula a second chance after 2 people I know have gone on and on about how much they like it. I also can't wait for pickled beets!
