Cool air.
It was 102ºf a couple of days ago, warmest afternoon this year. Overnight, the thermometer dropped 40º, to 60º.
I had the air conditioning set up by then but did my best to move cool morning air into the house that morning and every morning. Before having the afternoon refrigerated air, and with temperatures reaching into the 90's, it was never warmer than 77º in the house. A little warm but not insufferable.
Some neighbors have windows open all night ... some, all day! Night and Day?? Why do people do this? I used to think that it indicated children in the house and with the activity of ins-and-outs, they couldn't keep the doors closed long enough to make a difference. I've found this notion is wrong with some childless neighbors. One lady was out on her porch fanning herself with the other 2 adult residents looking on with real concern. The door and windows were open and it was cooking outside!
