I've lost all my tomato plants and it happened quickly! The leaves started dying off and fruits were marked with ugly brown spots. I noticed when I sprayed water on them that hundreds of "flies" came out of the plants - I first thought they were mosquitoes - Have read about whiteflies...could it be?:hit

Sounds like you might have blight... I notice if I have rotting fruit, it does attract fruit flies- could that be the bugs you are noticing? Are you near the end of your tomato season in Texas?

Thanx for the reply. Yes, we are near the end of growing season here in zone 7. We normally have tomatoes ripening right up til the first frost...not me this year. It sure could be blight....and the flies could be fruit flies. All in all, we have a great garden season and I can't fuss about that. I do plan to have different tomato varieties than what we chose this spring....
