When I plant seeds in the spring- it is time to play the waiting game. I put my beans in the ground, and 3 days later they are up and have true leaves!! I direct seeded butternut squash and cukes- holy moly! I might actually get fruit off them. Looking forward to a fall planting of lettuce and bok choy.... Soil temperature really makes a big difference. And, we actually had a little rain- so that didn't hurt either. I just love gardening experiments!

That's the fun of gardening, there's always more to learn. Some seeds start well in cool soil, some need much warmer soil. Our growing season is so long down here that i've been direct sowing into the garden since march!
