I am so pleased to have outlived some national and international crises and newsworthy affairs. It provides some perspective ... although, I do have some anxious moments, at times .

Today, marks the 1961 anniversary of the first American in space. I remember wondering if Alan Shepard wouldn't just drift away into the infinite or, worse, circle up there endlessly!

In case you missed your morning news program, here is something that might have been featured. It's not from the teevee networks but hardcore newspaper journalism and probably explains something about what passes for news, these days.

Thank you, Steve! At last, something important after all the drivel about running for President. I think I might even consider voting for Marvin -- as long he chooses Stubbs is his running mate. Could they do worse?

Oops! I'm guessing Marvin isn't a natural citizen (although he could be) so my campaign bumper sticker will have to be "Stubbs for Prez 2016. Get those rats out of Washington!"
